Post types and posting accounts are two different things
A post type is one branded set-up inside PostYard — its own template, tone of voice, posting windows and approval queue. Run as many as you like on any plan; what your plan meters is AI credits. The posting itself is done by your own Buffer or SocialPilot account, which you connect once: PostYard drafts, holds and times each post, then hands it over when its slot arrives. That account is a separate subscription with them, and it’s what decides which social channels you can publish to — so unlimited post types doesn’t mean unlimited channels.

Most plans include an allowance of AI credits because PostYard does the writing for you. If you already run Claude on your own machine, you don’t need us to. Bring your own AI is the same portal at a flat monthly fee, with the drafting left to you — so you pay for the yard, not for tokens you’ve already bought.

What's a post type?
One branded set-up inside PostYard — its own graphic template, tone of voice, posting windows and approval queue. Run as many as you like on any plan: post types aren't metered, only the AI credits the work behind them spends.
Do I need a Buffer or SocialPilot account?
For social posting, yes. PostYard drafts, queues, approves and times every post, then hands it to your own Buffer or SocialPilot account to publish at the right moment. That's a separate subscription with them, and it's what decides which social channels you can reach — unlimited post types on our side doesn't mean unlimited channels on theirs. WordPress articles are the exception: those publish straight to your site, no provider needed.

What is bring your own AI?
A plan for people who already run Claude on their own machine. Instead of PostYard calling the AI for you, your own Claude Code session writes the posts and files them straight into PostYard's approval queue over our REST API — so you pay us for the yard, not for the tokens. Everything after that is unchanged: the queue, the graphic templates, the posting windows, the approvals, the handoff to Buffer or SocialPilot. It isn't open yet; the plan is listed so you know it's coming.
Do I need to build anything to use bring your own AI?
No. PostYard gives you a downloadable skill pack — unzip it, run one install script, and your Claude Code session already knows how to read your post types, browse your asset library, pull a work order and publish into the queue. The pack carries your own portal's API key, so there's nothing to configure.
Can I still buy credits on a bring-your-own-AI plan?
Yes. The plan includes none, but top-up bundles work exactly as they do on any other plan, and bought credits never expire. That's the escape hatch for the week you'd rather PostYard did the writing after all.
What happens when I use up my monthly allowance?
You can buy a one-off top-up bundle. Those credits are only spent once your monthly allowance is used up, and they don't expire at the end of the month.
What happens to unused monthly credits?
Your monthly allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle and doesn't roll over. Bought top-up credits work differently — they carry over until you use them.
Can I change plan?
Yes. Upgrades and downgrades are managed through your Stripe customer portal.
How is billing handled?
Every plan is billed monthly via Stripe. Manage your subscription, payment method and invoices any time through the Stripe customer portal.
